“Day of 1918” Event

Dear Parents

We have been informed by the British Legion that an event to mark the end of World War 2 is to take place at Carlisle Castle on SATURDAY 10TH NOVEMBER where you as parents can take your children along to Carlisle Castle to mark this event.

Parents and children can take part in the torch lit procession from Carlisle Castle to the Market Cross to witness the re-enactment of the Declaration of the Armistice by the Mayor of Carlisle as happened in 1918.

If you and your child would like to take part in this event, parents and children should be at Carlisle Castle by 4.15pm on Saturday 10th November to collect a “Glow Stick” and process with the public for this historic event.

Carlisle Castle is open from 10am for the “Day of 1918” event with WW1 trenches, WW1 Field Hospital, a WW1 Replica Tank and various historic re-enactments. A fabulous history lesson in every respect!
