Health and Safety

Anyone starting at Brook Street School, whether they be staff, a student or a volunteer, MUST complete the Health and Safety / Safeguarding Induction.  The documentation, which includes a short test, will be forwarded to them ahead of their start date for completion and return. The signature sheet and test must be handed in to the office before starting with school.

There are various policies that you need to read in conjunction with this booklet as follows:

  • the Guidance for Safer Working Practice Policy
  • the Safeguarding Policy
  • the Acceptable Use of ICT Policy
  • the Internet and e-safety Policy
  • the Health and Safety Policy
  • the Data Protection Policy

These policies are available on the website under 'Key Information' /  ‘Policies’

Please note that Health and Safety is the responsibility of everyone on site, so if you see something that you feel is a hazard, please report it to the school office as soon as possible. Please do not just assume that someone else will do this.

Visitors are also advised that Brook Street School is a Zero Tolerance Zone. The use of:

  • Inappropriate language
  • Threats or acts of aggression towards staff or pupils

Will not be tolerated. Anybody behaving in such a way will be asked to leave. In addition, they may receive a ban from the premises and their behaviour may be reported to the police. Thank you.
