Avril Barker Community Library

The Avril Barker Community Library

The Avril Barker Community Library was officially opened on Friday 29th March 2019 in memory of Avril Barker, who was a parent, member of staff and school governor here for many years. She was also part of the fundraising team and helped raise much needed funds for the school over the years. She sadly passed away in 2016 and is greatly missed in school. The library was named in her honour.

This event was featured in the News & Star click here.

For community use please contact Brook Street School on 01228 558724.

This is a well-stocked, fabulous resource. We would like to thank Mr Potter, a former pupil of Brook Street School, who attended here in the 1930s, who has made regular donations over the years to help us purchase new books. 'Thank you Mr Potter'.

The children throughout school make use of this fantastic resource at different times throughout the week.

Each lunch time, children from years 3, 4, 5 and 6 are able to visit the Library in their lunch hour (between 1.00pm - 1.20pm).
