Free School Meals

ARE YOU ELIGIBLE FOR FREE SCHOOL MEALS?

If you are on benefits, you may be entitled to Free School Meals. You can apply for free school meals by going on to the Council Website

https://www.cumberland.gov.uk/schools-and-education/free-school-meals-and-clothing-vouchers  and clicking apply online.

If you do qualify and have successfully registered, school will be notified and your child will be able to have a free meal in school each day from the date that school is notified.

Although all children get a free meal whilst they are in Reception and Key Stage 1, regardless of whether a parent is on benefits or not, we advise that parents on benefits with a Reception or Key Stage 1 child  go online and register for a free meal on the link above then, in addition to the free meal that your child gets in school, you will  also receive an electronic voucher for approximately £15 - £22 per week, per child during the school holidays, that you can spend in a local supermarket. You will also be eligible for a clothing grant towards the cost of purchasing school uniform.

If your circumstances change at any time and you find yourself unemployed and are claiming benefits, please ensure that you register using the link above.

If you need help with this, please ask at the school office.
