FARE SHARE AT BROOK ST SCHOOL
Fare Share is a charity aimed at relieving food poverty and reducing food waste. It does this by obtaining good quality surplus food from the food industry that would otherwise have gone to waste and distributing it to organisations such as ours.
We collect this produce each Wednesday and make up bags of good quality produce, which include items such as tinned goods, fresh fruit/veg, pasta, bread, cereal, ready meals, desserts, biscuits, cakes, meats, juices, eggs, cheese etc. The value of the goods in the bag is usually around £10 to £30 (or more). However, we don’t know from week to week what food we will receive, but it is generally of good quality.
Each Wednesday throughout term from around 2.30pm to 2.50pm, a bag of Fare Share goods will be on offer to all parents.
The cost of a bag is £1. The bags are allocated on a first come - first served basis.
The Cumberland Building Society are currently helping with the cost of supplying this food and we would like to thank them for their kindness and generosity.
