We have made a slight change to the term dates for the 2024 - 2025 academic year. Pease see the letter below which was sent to all families in July. Please use this document and dates and not the Local Authority dates when planning your holidays. The term dates are as follows.

School Hours Years 1, 2 + 3

Morning lessons 8:55am to 12:20pm  Morning break 11:00am to 11:20am Assembly: 10:40am to 11:00am Lunch: 12:20pm to 1:20pm

Afternoon lessons 1:20pm to 3:10pm   

School Hours Years 4 , 5 + 6

Morning lessons 8:55am to 12:30pm Morning break 11:00am to 11:20am Assembly: 10:40am Lunch: 12:30pm to 1:20pm

Afternoon lessons 1:20pm to 3:15pm

Breakfast Club- This FREE club runs from 8:20 each morning. Access is via the main Edward St gate. It is based:

in the Early Years unit for Nursery & Reception,

in the Main Hall for years 1, 2 and 3 and

in the Breakfast Club room beside the library for years  4, 5 & 6.

The school will take responsibility for children attending Breakfast Club from, but not before, 8:20am each day. The school yard will be manned from 8:40am each day, there will be no member of staff on the school yard to supervise pupils before this time. School will therefore not take any responsibility for any children on the school premises before 8:40am unless they attend breakfast club.

Nursery + Reception

Access to the school is the main Edward Street Entrance. The unit’s doors open at 8:45am Parents should bring their child to the Early Years unit, hand them over then leave the site immediately. 15 hours Nursery children will be taken to the Edward St gate for collection at 12 noon. 

For 30 hours nursery and reception children the school day ends at 3pm and children will be taken to the Edward St Vehicle Gate at this time.

Year 1,2 + 3

Access to the site in the morning is through the Edward St Vehicle Gate.   The bell will ring at 8:55am to be in class for 9:00am. The end of the school day is at 3:10pm. Classes will be taken to the following gate for handover to parents.

Year 2 - Edward Street Vehicle Gate – Right side as you look in
Year 3 - Edward Street Pedestrian Gate

Year 4, 5 + 6

Access to the site in the morning is through the Edward St Vehicle Gate.   The bell will ring at 8:55 to be in class for 9:00 The end of the school day is at 3:15pm. Classes will be taken to the following gate for handover to parents.

Walking Home

If your child is in years 4, 5 or 6 and you wish them to walk home without being collected we MUST have written permission. Please ask in school for a form which must be completed by a parent/guardian to allow this.

The teaching hours during the normal school week, excluding the statutory daily act of collective worship, registration and breaks are:

Infants – 22h05m

Juniors – 23h20m

Foundation Stage (Nursery and Reception Classes)

The 15 hour nursery class starts at 0845hrs and finishes at 1200hrs.The 30 hour nursery class starts at 0845hrs and finishes at 1500hrs

The reception class starts at 0845hrs and finishes at 1500hrs

The reception class and 30 hour nursery class finish for lunch at 12:00pm and eat their dinner from 12:10pm returning to class at 1:00pm
