The Outdoors Curriculum

Access to the outdoors is essential for our children. Not only will it promote and support mental and physical well-being, but is supports the teaching of many aspects of the National Curriculum, develops core skills essential to success in future stages of education and life, and offers our children opportunities that every child should have. For many of our children the experiences we offer them through our outdoors curriculum are their first experience of nature, wilderness and the opportunities that the great outdoors can offer.

In keeping with many other aspects of our curriculum, the outdoors program is not a one-off or limited experience. It is a progressive series of opportunities and experiences that develop and build upon each other. We make use of a range of local providers and resources to ensure children access a range of high quality experiences. The leaflet below sets out the program and additional information is available in other documentation or by contacting the school directly.
