What have you been up too this week? It has been a wet week with me but I have enjoyed some dog walks and Ivy has really loved jumping up and down in puddles!
This week's story is a bedtime story. As we will be back at school next week I have been going to bed on time and waking up at the same time as what I would be if I was coming to school. Do you think you could try that this week too?
See you soon.

This is something we will be doing lots and lots when we are in school. Remember that you can sing Happy Birthday twice or count to 20 as you wash your hands :)
I hope you enjoy this week's story. It is another one of my favourites. What is your favourite colour? Which colours does the Owl see in the story?

At the weekend we took Ivy to the Zoo for the first time! We had a great day out even though it rained! The giraffe's and rhino's were Ivy's favourite! With that being said, this week's story and challenge are all linked to a story about the Zoo!

This week in Phonics we are focussing on the digraphs 'oo' and 'ar.' In Maths we are looking at ordering numbers correctly and working out the correct ladybird doubles. I have uploaded a power point to help refresh your memories about how doubles work.

Hi Reception.
It was so lovely chatting to some of you on Friday - you guys have been working so hard on your school work whilst also spending quality time with your grown ups. Well done to all of you and keep up the amazing work :)
This week our neighbours very kindly gave Ivy their trampoline which their own children have outgrown. Ivy has been on it everyday since we got it! She especially loves throwing the balls on and off - repeatedly!
In Phonics this week we are revisiting the trigraph 'igh' and the digraph 'oa.' In Maths we are focussing on number recognition and solving one more and one less word problems using objects from around your house. I have filmed a video showing you how some of the activities can be completed to give you an idea.
For your creative challenge this week I would like you and your grown up to find a recipe for vegetable soup and have a go at making it together! You could help your grown up by collecting the ingredients and helping them to chop or peel the vegetables safely and with full concentration. I am going to complete this challenge too and I will show you pictures of my vegetable soup next week!

Take a look at my examples below to help you :)

This week I have attached a new set of top 10 activities for you and I have also uploaded a story for you to watch. Which new foods did Lola try? Did you try any new foods last week? I Will Never Not Ever Eat a Tomato By Lauren Child
Hi Reception!
I hope you have all had a busy week and have enjoyed working through the activities that I set you last week. This week I have set some more activities for you based on ordering numbers, counting backwards, recapping everything we have learnt in phase 4 and there is also a creative task linked to the story Stickman too! I hope you enjoy them as well as a brand new set of top 10 activities.
As I said last week, Ivy's Dad and I plucked up the courage to give our dog, Tilly a well needed groom! It took nearly 3 hours and it was a lot of hard work but we kept on going and never gave up! I have attached some photo's below! Can you see all of the fur that is on the floor? Our kitchen was very messy that day!
CREATIVE / STORY TASK - Listen to the story of Stick man and collect as many sticks as you can whilst out on your daily walk. Are some longer or shorter than others? Can you order them from shortest to longest? Choose one of your sticks to be stick man - maybe you could decorate him? Use the remaining sticks to create a maze for Stickman to work this way through! I have attached a photo to give you some ideas :)

TUESDAY PHONICS
Picture and caption matching - can you complete 1 sheet?
Tricky word hopscotch - write out the words and hop along and say each tricky word as you do so. Refer back to my tricky word video if you find it tricky to remember the words. I have attached a letter formation document which explains how to form each letter correctly.
Watch my video and create your own version of snakes and ladders - phonics style!
Counting backwards hopscotch activity
Refer back to the number formation support I have provided for you over the past few weeks and draw out your own version of hopscotch, starting at 10 and ending at 0, you can use my photo to help you. I used chalk, don't worry if you don't have any as writing the numbers onto pieces of paper would work well too. Firstly, practise jumping along your hopscotch starting from 10, and counting backwards to 0. Then, find a ball or small object and throw it onto a number, say the number out loud and starting from 10, move along your hopscotch, remembering to say the number each time until you reach the number you threw your item onto!

Top 10 activities for Reception week beginning 11th May
I hope you are all ok and keeping busy! Did any of you celebrate VE day? I made some yummy flapjacks, it was the first time I had ever made them and they were delicious! It's safe to say that they didn't last very long!
This week we have had some lovely sunny weather so we decided to take a walk to our local Bluebell Wood. The bluebells looked so beautiful and Tilly had a lovely paddle in the river! Ivy loves the story 'We're Going on a Bear Hunt' and thought that we might see some bears in the woods but luckily we didn't!
This week Ivy's Dad and I are going to attempt to groom Tilly. She is a very furry dog and usually needs to be clipped every 2 months. As her hair is so long we decided to order some clippers! I am quite nervous as it is something we have never done before so I am hoping it all goes ok! I will show you a picture once we are done!
I have uploaded lots of new activities for you to work your way through this week including creative, maths, phonics and stories!
