I am really excited to meet you all properly on Thursday and Friday this week. We are going to have lots of fun getting to know each other and exploring the classroom and outdoor space! Please check your letter for your arrival and pick up times.
This week I have posted The Very Hungry Caterpillar. This week I have been doing lots of gardening and I found 3 green caterpillars. Which minibeasts can you find outside?
See you on Thursday!
What have you been up too this week? It has been a wet week with me but I have enjoyed some dog walks and Ivy has really loved jumping up and down in puddles!
This week's story is a bedtime story. As we will be back at school next week I have been going to bed on time and waking up at the same time as what I would be if I was coming to school. Do you think you could try that this week too?
See you soon.
It really isn't long before we can all meet properly and start our Reception journey together. Have you been practising to wash and dry your hands on your own? This is something we will be doing lots and lots when we are in school. Remember that you can sing Happy Birthday twice or count to 20 as you wash your hands :)
I hope you enjoy this week's story. It is another one of my favourites. What is your favourite colour? Which colours does the Owl see in the story?
Speak to you soon
I am so sorry for the late post this week but here it is!
My little girl Ivy turned 2 yesterday so I have had a very busy week! She has lots of new toys to play with too - what is your favourite toy? I can't wait to find out so much about each and every one of you soon!
Have a lovely week in the sunshine!
This week I have uploaded a story that will make you smile and laugh. The title is 'The Dinky Donkey' and it is one of my all time favourite stories to read! Do you have a favourite story? I can't wait to read stories to you when we can get back into our new classroom - have you watched the video of the classroom tour yet? Which area will you explore first?
I hope you are all enjoying the holidays and keeping safe :)
Hello to my new Reception class :)
I am really looking forward to getting to know you all in September :) Make sure you take a look at the video we created showing you the classroom. You will find it under the 'Meet your new teacher' tab!
I hope you enjoy this week's story read aloud by me! Each Monday I will be uploading a new story video for you to enjoy.
Have a lovely Summer holiday and I will see you soon.
It has been so lovely to spend time with some of you this week. You have all been superstars! If I haven't seen you then I will definitely see you around school in September :)
I just wanted to take the opportunity to let you know how much I have really enjoyed helping you learn this year, can you believe how fast time has gone and that you will soon be in Year 1?!
I hope you enjoy your home learning this week and have a brilliant Summer holiday.
See you soon.
Can you believe we only have two more weeks until the Summer holidays?
I hope you have all had a lovely week and managed to complete some home learning tasks too! This week we are looking at repeating patterns and we will be learning how to count in multiples of 2. In Phonics we will be focussing on reading words which contain some of those tricky trigraphs! Don't worry if you find anything tricky - watch the videos and join in with me :)
I am really looking forward to spending some time in school with some of you on Wednesday and Thursday. I know Miss Clark is super excited too! We can't wait to see you and hear about all of the fun things that you have been up too! During the day we will complete phonics, maths, singing, dancing, circle time and story activities and spend lots of time exploring the resources in Year 1 :) We will also spend lots of time outside in the yard too. Please remember to bring your own water bottle.
Have a great week everyone.
I was back at school this week working in the hub, it has been so lovely to get back and see some of you! I am super excited to see more of you when we return to school as part of the 'green bubble' for the last two weeks! I will be busy spending some time getting our classroom ready this week with Miss Dixon and Miss Clark.
In Phonics we are looking at 'ow' and 'oi.' In Maths we are focusing on 2D shape and addition.
At the weekend we took Ivy to the Zoo for the first time! We had a great day out even though it rained! The giraffe's and rhino's were Ivy's favourite! With that being said, this week's story and challenge are all linked to a story about the Zoo!
I hope you enjoy your home learning tasks this week.
How are we all this week?
I have been at school working in the hub this week. It has been lovely to see some of you again and be back in our classroom, even though it looks a little different! I will be back in for 2 days next week too!
This week in Phonics we are looking at the alphabet and the digraphs 'or' and 'ur.' In Maths we will be halving different amounts of objects and also learning how to partition 2 digit numbers which is brand new!
This week's creative challenge is a little bit different. I would like you to watch the story 'We are all different' and complete one of the poem templates. Think about what makes you special. What do you look like? What do you like to eat? What do you like to do for fun?
I hope you enjoy this week's activities.
Keep safe and keep busy.
How are you all this week? After a wet start to the week the sun has decided to come out and I have been enjoying lots of time in the garden with Ivy. We have been making mud pies in the mud kitchen and jumping really high on the trampoline!
Did any of you make a healthy vegetable soup? I chose to make a tomato soup and I have uploaded pictures for you to see. Ivy and I really enjoyed eating some of it for our dinner one day last week.
This week in Phonics we are focussing on the digraphs 'oo' and 'ar.' In Maths we are looking at ordering numbers correctly and working out the correct ladybird doubles. I have uploaded a power point to help refresh your memories about how doubles work.
This week's creative challenge is linked to my story this week - The Very Hungry Caterpillar. I would like you to have a go at making your very own fruit salad with a grown up, once it is made you can enjoy it as a healthy snack with your family :) Ivy loves fruit so we are going to give this a go this week too! I will post photo's next week for you to see! I think I might add some apple juice into mine!
I hope you enjoy your new home learning activities this week.
It was so lovely chatting to some of you on Friday - you guys have been working so hard on your school work whilst also spending quality time with your grown ups. Well done to all of you and keep up the amazing work :)
This week our neighbours very kindly gave Ivy their trampoline which their own children have outgrown. Ivy has been on it everyday since we got it! She especially loves throwing the balls on and off - repeatedly!
In Phonics this week we are revisiting the trigraph 'igh' and the digraph 'oa.' In Maths we are focussing on number recognition and solving one more and one less word problems using objects from around your house. I have filmed a video showing you how some of the activities can be completed to give you an idea.
For your creative challenge this week I would like you and your grown up to find a recipe for vegetable soup and have a go at making it together! You could help your grown up by collecting the ingredients and helping them to chop or peel the vegetables safely and with full concentration. I am going to complete this challenge too and I will show you pictures of my vegetable soup next week!
Speak to you soon.
I hope you have all had a lovely half term and have enjoyed this hot weather - I certainly have!
For Maths this week I have a subtraction activity and a measuring activity for you to complete - please watch my video and take a look at my photographs for more information :) In phonics we are revisiting two digraphs that we have already learnt - 'ai' and 'ee.'
Next week I will be working at the hub in school for the first time so I am excited about that! I will also be phoning you all on Friday morning for a little chat and catch up - I look forward to speaking to you then.
Have a great week.
HAPPY HALF TERM EVERYONE!
Can you believe that we haven't seen each other for 2 months now? I really do miss you all and hope that you are all having fun at home.
This week I have attached a new set of top 10 activities for you and I have also uploaded a story for you to watch. Which new foods did Lola try? Did you try any new foods last week? Could you try something new this week? I always offer Ivy vegetables and she actually tried some sweetcorn last week and loved it!
I have also uploaded some photo's of what I have been up too this week. What do you think of my brownies? They really were delicious!
Have fun and stay safe.
I hope you have all had a busy week and have enjoyed working through the activities that I set you last week. This week I have set some more activities for you based on ordering numbers, counting backwards, recapping everything we have learnt in phase 4 and there is also a creative task linked to the story Stickman too! I hope you enjoy them as well as a brand new set of top 10 activities.
As I said last week, Ivy's Dad and I plucked up the courage to give our dog, Tilly a well needed groom! It took nearly 3 hours and it was a lot of hard work but we kept on going and never gave up! I have attached some photo's below! Can you see all of the fur that is on the floor? Our kitchen was very messy that day!
Keep working hard and having fun.
Counting backwards hopscotch activity
Refer back to the number formation support I have provided for you over the past few weeks and draw out your own version of hopscotch, starting at 10 and ending at 0, you can use my photo to help you. I used chalk, don't worry if you don't have any as writing the numbers onto pieces of paper would work well too. Firstly, practise jumping along your hopscotch starting from 10, and counting backwards to 0. Then, find a ball or small object and throw it onto a number, say the number out loud and starting from 10, move along your hopscotch, remembering to say the number each time until you reach the number you threw your item onto!
I hope you are all ok and keeping busy! Did any of you celebrate VE day? I made some yummy flapjacks, it was the first time I had ever made them and they were delicious! It's safe to say that they didn't last very long!
This week we have had some lovely sunny weather so we decided to take a walk to our local Bluebell Wood. The bluebells looked so beautiful and Tilly had a lovely paddle in the river! Ivy loves the story 'We're Going on a Bear Hunt' and thought that we might see some bears in the woods but luckily we didn't!
This week Ivy's Dad and I are going to attempt to groom Tilly. She is a very furry dog and usually needs to be clipped every 2 months. As her hair is so long we decided to order some clippers! I am quite nervous as it is something we have never done before so I am hoping it all goes ok! I will show you a picture once we are done!
I have uploaded lots of new activities for you to work your way through this week including creative, maths, phonics and stories!
Have you all had a busy week? Ivy is talking so much at the moment and learning to say new words every day so she is definitely keeping us busy! Ivy loves being outside so we have made sure we go for a walk every morning after our breakfast! This week she has enjoyed banana porridge, weetabix, avocado on toast and lots of fruit including blueberries and raspberries for breakfast! What have you had for breakfast this week?
Below are some new activities and videos for you to work your way through. I hope you are enjoying all of the videos I have uploaded so far. Filming myself seemed strange to begin with but I am getting used to it now!
I have also attached some photographs so you can see what myself and Miss Clark have been up too.
There is an added extra Creative task this week for you too - let your imagination run wild! Keep your pictures in a safe place so you can show me them when we go back to school!
Keep safe and keep having lots of fun.
I hope you are all keeping busy and staying safe. It was lovely talking to some of you on the phone last week!
Hasn't the weather been lovely this week?! I certainly have been enjoying the sunshine this week and Ivy has too!
Below are some pictures of what myself, Miss Clark and Miss Bulman have been up too this week. I have also uploaded some more fun activities for you to join in with. I hope you enjoy them.
I have added some photo's below to show you what I have been up too this week!
Below I have also added lots of fun activities for you to complete this week. I hope you enjoy working your way through them.
On Thursday morning I will be phoning you to speak to your child - I'm really looking forward to chatting to them and hearing about what they have been up too!
Have fun, keep busy and keep smiling.
Miss Watson :)
Hi everyone, how are we all? Did you all have a lovely Easter?
The Easter bunny came to our house and left some chicks and chocolate eggs in our garden - Ivy had a great time collecting them all!
Next week I will be posting daily Phonics activities for each day of the week Monday - Friday for you to join in with. Some of the activities will be recordings of me teaching that you can watch, some will be links to specific games and others may be a photograph of what I would like you to do with a quick message. I will post all of the activities on Sunday night ready for you for Monday morning. I will also be uploading some Maths activities and Talk for Writing activities too. We are continuing with the top 10 activities too so there will be lots of things to keep you busy so please make sure you check them out!
How many challenges have you completed this week so far?
Here are some photo's of Ivy on her Easter egg hunt!
