Nursery (Mrs Graham)

Hello everyone,

not long now until Nursery starts, I hope you are getting ready and hopefully you will be feeling excited about making new friends and learning lots of new things. It will be lovely to read stories to you properly. This weeks story has lots of different story, song and rhyme characters in it, you could try singing some Nursery Rhymes this week.

See you all soon

Hello again everyone,

I hope you have had fun in the sun over the last week. I am starting to get ready for coming back to Nursery, I have been going to bed on time and getting up early, I have also been and had my hair cut. I hope that your Mum's and Dad's are helping you to get ready for Nursery too! I'm sure you can all wash your hands and blow your noses by yourself, if not keep trying. I hope you enjoy this week's bedtime story.

One of my favourite stories, are you ready to come on a bear hunt with me?

Hello again,

It is now just over four weeks until school starts again, have you all been washing and drying your own hands and practicing blowing your nose by yourself? I have been thinking about, and planning lots of exciting things for us to do when we start back at school. Here is this week's story, Dear Zoo. Can you name all of the animals? If you could choose an animal from the zoo which animal would you want?

Enjoy listening to the story.

Our classroom is ready and waiting for us, have another look at the video of the classroom, what are you going to do first?

We are going to have to wash our hands lots and use a tissue to blow our noses, can you be superheroes and practice doing these things by yourself?

I hope you enjoy the Peppa Pig story, I will add another story next week, stay safe.

Hello everyone,

This would have been the last week at school before the summer holidays. All of you older children would have moved through to Reception class to meet your new teacher and new friends. Your new teacher is going to phone you to say hello this week and I might see you at the zoom meeting on Monday.

I'm really sad that I can't do any more to prepare you all for Reception class in September, you are all amazing! I have loved being your nursery teacher. I have put more activities onto the website to help you get ready for Reception class, keep singing, dancing and smiling!

Stay safe, have a lovey summer and I will see you in September.

I hope you are all staying safe and keeping smiling. I have been in school lots this week, it is very strange without you all. Mrs Marlow has been in school too, not on the same days as me so I haven't seen her for as long as I haven't seen you all. I hope you have managed to get out and about even though the weather hasn't been very good, hopefully the sun will shine again for us soon. It's great news that parks are going to reopen so you will all be able to play at the park as well as in your gardens. I am looking forward to being able to get my hair cut, it has grown very long. There are lots of things in your pack to help keep you busy as we are almost at the summer holidays. I hope you have all had a lovely week and have spent time outside in the sunshine. I  have spent a lot of time in my garden looking after my plants, they needed to be watered lots because it was so hot. One of my dogs, Cosmo was very scared of the thunder at the weekend, he kept cuddling in to me to feel safe, I hope you weren't scared by the thunder. This week I am putting two sets of activities up as some of you older nursery children will be moving through to the Reception classroom in September. The frog was quite big, I think it must have been having a rest from swimming in our pond. If we had been at nursery I could have brought it in to show you all. It has been a nice week with plenty of sunshine and I'm sure the sun is going to shine again for us this week. I will be in school again this week, it is very different and I miss you all. Boris Johnson, the Prime Minister and the government are sending a plan to schools in the next few weeks to help us plan for us all coming back to school safely in September, so I will have lots to do. I hope you are still being my superheroes, enjoy this weeks activities, we have got to the end of The Foggy Foggy Forest book. Hello everybody,

It was so nice to speak to you all on Friday, you all sounded so happy and you have been doing so many things to keep busy, learning to ride your bike without stabilisers, making tents, hatching your own butterflies, going for walks, playing football, learning your numbers, playing in your paddling pools, writing the letters in your names, dancing, and playing Minecraft!

It was so lovely to hear you all and I am glad you are trying out the activities I am putting on the website for you and that you are enjoying listening to the stories I have been telling.

I love choosing and reading the stories for you but I miss you not being there to listen (Cosmo my dog has been listening to each one when I have recorded it so I think he must like the stories too!).

I hope the weather gets better again this week, I am in school for key worker children and it's so much nicer if we can get outside and play.

I have been very busy at my house, we are having some building work done so it has been very messy as ceilings and walls have been taken down, it looks as if the ogre has been bashing walls down!

I have enjoyed spending lots of time in my garden in the sun this week, I realised I have flowers for all the colours in the rainbow!

I have been into school a couple of times this week, it is very quiet without you all, Betsy is missing you all too, she has had no one to ride on her for such a long time.

I am excited for Friday as I am going to phone you all in the afternoon to have a chat, it has been a long time since we last spoke.

Hello again everyone smiley

I hope you are all safe and still being my superheroes, I am sure you are. What have you been doing this week?

I have been busy doing lots of different things, enjoying my daily walks and doing jobs around the house.

At the start of the week I made some carrot cake cupcakes and shortbread faces, they didn't last very long as they were very tasty.

It was my son Jacob's birthday this week, he was 16, a lot bigger and older than you. He was a bit sad that he couldn't take the bike test so he can ride the scooter we bought him, but things are so different for everyone at the moment, he knows he just has to wait until it is safe.

I made him a birthday cake which I was really proud of as it cooked properly, looked good and tasted good too! (I have put some photos onto the website so you can see) Jacob couldn't have a party or see his wider family but he had a good day and had pizza delivered as a treat.

I hope you enjoy all the Goldilocks things I have put onto the website for you to try, I know we loved the stories and dancing when we were together.

Mrs Marlow having a busy start to her week.

Hello again everyone,

I hope that you are still being Superheroes and staying at home and keeping safe. It has been such a lovely week I hope you have managed to spend some time outside in the sunshine. I have had a very busy week this week, I was at Upperby school on Monday and Tuesday looking after the Brook Street children whose parents are key workers.

I have been walking Poppie and Cosmo every day, and they have both loved lying in the garden in the sunshine.

I baked some unicorn cupcakes for my sister because it was her birthday, I took a photo to show you, I am getting quite good at making cupcakes so I will have to bake some for us when we are all back together at nursery again.

One day I was just like Bob the Builder and I built some new furniture which came in five big boxes, it was a bit tricky at first, but I followed the instructions and built everything all by myself. I have added some photos so you can see what I did.

Did you celebrate VE Day? I decorated the house with flags and paperchains and we had afternoon tea with scrummy cakes and scones. I hope you enjoy this weeks activities.

I had a video meeting with Mr Bursnall, Mrs Myers, Mrs Beattie and Mrs Haughan, which was very different to how we usually have meetings, we were all at our own homes but we could see each other on our computers. I am going to be at Upperby school again, on Monday and Tuesday looking after the children from our school whose parents are Key Workers, seeing other children from our school makes me miss you all even more. I hope you are still being my superheroes and staying at home, keep safe. I am going to colour a new rainbow for my window, you could do that too.

This week, as the weather has been so nice I have spent a lot of time in my garden, I had to do lots of weeding to tidy the garden up. I took some pictures of the pretty flowers to show you. I hope you have all managed to spend some time outside in the sunshine, lots of you were playing in your paddling pools when I phoned on Wednesday . I haven't got a paddling pool but I have been taking my dogs Poppie and Cosmo for a walk everyday for my exercise. Mrs Marlow has had a busy week too, I hope you enjoyed seeing her photos. Hello Nursery and Happy Easter, I hope the Easter Bunny brought you an egg or some chocolate to enjoy. Are you all being heroes and staying at home as much as you can?

I have been going out for my walk early every morning with my dogs Poppie and Cosmo.

Has anyone seen any of our butterflies in their garden or flying past their window, I think I saw one.

This week I have enjoyed baking, I need to keep practicing I'm not as good as Mrs Marlow!

I have had lots to watch out of my window this week as there was a water leak near my house, this affected the gas so we had no water or gas for two days! Luckily the weather has been nice. There were lots of workmen who dug lots of big holes on the pavements near my house, there were diggers and trucks and lorries and vans (Denver you would have loved seeing all the big vehicles) and lots of men trying to fix the problem. It is all fixed now but the big holes are still there!

I hope you have all managed to enjoy some time in the sunshine, keep being my heroes and stay safe at home, I miss you all. Mrs Graham x

Good morning everyone smiley,

I hope you are all staying safe indoors. Our tiny caterpillar has finally became a butterfly, I will add some photos later and if the sun shines I will let him fly away, so look out he might fly past your window or through your garden. I miss you all, stay safe, Mrs Graham. Mrs Marlow says hello too!

More butterflies!

Our first butterfly has hatched!

Good morning Nursery I hope you are all safe and well. Did anyone try the Exercise Alphabet? Our caterpillars are still sleeping in their cocoons, I wonder how much longer until we have butterflies? I have just been out for a walk with my dogs Poppie and Cosmo, I will put photos of them on so you can see what they look like. I also have ten more things for you to try this week. Take Care and stay safe.

Our cocoons in their new home.

Good morning Nursery,

I hope you are all keeping well. Good news! Our tiny caterpillar has grown big and fat, this morning it had climbed to the top of the pot to make a cocoon. I will take a photo to show you all later. I wonder how long it will be until we have butterflies?smiley

I will think of other things for us to do together while apart and add them to help keep you busy. Stay inside and stay safe.
