  • SPOTACULAR Non-uniform Day

    On Friday 16th November it is Children in Need day. School is supporting this cause by holding a non-uniform day where the theme will be to be dressed in SPOTS. Please donate 50p to this appeal if you can, just come to school out of uniform in a ‘spotty’ theme. Please do not go to any expense buying new clothes (children can pin spots to their clothes or paint their faces with spots).

    Post: Midday Supervisor
    Salary: £7.83 Per Hour
    Hours: 6 hours 40 minutes per week
    Working Pattern: Monday-Friday, 12.00- 1.20pm

    Term Time Only.

    Duties and responsibilities - supervision of dining areas

    · Control queues to dining areas.

    · See that the overall arrangement for children to dine promotes an orderly and pleasant meals service.

    · See that any spillage is removed quickly. Have an arrangement so that a floor cloth, dust-pan, and brush is readily accessible.

    · See that trays are not left in dangerous positions, and are cleaned where necessary.

    · To assist pupils, where necessary, with the proper use of cutlery, drinking facilities or other aspects of the midday meal.

    · Encourage the pupils to leave the table clean.

    · Ensure the dining areas are left clean and tidy.

     

    Duties and responsibilities - supervision of outside dining areas

    · Arrange your supervision so you move around amongst the children within the area you are covering.

    · Ensure acceptable standards of behaviour are maintained.

    · Try to avoid children hurting themselves.

    · Once lunch has been eaten engage with the children in activities which promote healthy and active lifestyles.

    · Regularly rotate activities on offer to the children.

    · Promote the inclusion of all pupils.

    · This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service (formerly known as CRB) to check for any previous criminal convictions.

  • Flu Immunisation

    Children in Reception to Year 5 are eligible for the free nasal flu immunisation. This is a nasal spray vaccine meaning no needles. The vaccines will take place on Monday 12th November 2018. Parents must return a completed consent form to the school office no later than 9am Friday 9th November.

  • “Day of 1918” Event

    Dear Parents

     

    We have been informed by the British Legion that an event to mark the end of World War 2 is to take place at Carlisle Castle on SATURDAY 10TH NOVEMBER where you as parents can take your children along to Carlisle Castle to mark this event.

     

    Parents and children can take part in the torch lit procession from Carlisle Castle to the Market Cross to witness the re-enactment of the Declaration of the Armistice by the Mayor of Carlisle as happened in 1918.

     

    If you and your child would like to take part in this event, parents and children should be at Carlisle Castle by 4.15pm on Saturday 10th November to collect a “Glow Stick” and process with the public for this historic event.

     

    Carlisle Castle is open from 10am for the “Day of 1918” event with WW1 trenches, WW1 Field Hospital, a WW1 Replica Tank and various historic re-enactments. A fabulous history lesson in every respect!
