Brook Street School Closure

Brook Street School is now closed.
CRITICAL WORKERS
If you are a Critical Worker, please note that your child can be looked after between 9am and 3pm, Monday to Friday at Upperby School, Uldale Road, Carlisle, CA2 4 JT. If you have not pre-booked a place, please contact Upperby School hub on 01228 815460 to arrange for a place to be made available for your child.
Staff from Brook Street School will be present to look after them there.
They will need a packed lunch with them each day and they must be in school uniform. You must complete the relevant paperwork when leaving them for the first time and have provided us with documentation proving that you are a critical worker.
PROVISION OF FOOD
If you need help with the provision of food at this difficult time, please either email us on:
office@brookst.cumbria.sch.uk or telephone us on 07821573434 (between 9am and 10am) as we may be able to refer you to Carlisle Food Bank.
If you are entitled to Free School Meals, the Government are hoping to have e-vouchers available. Please ensure that school has your email address by emailing us on office@brookst.cumbria.sch.uk.
There will be no provision over the school holiday weeks (Easter, May, Summer).
ANY OTHER ISSUE
If you need to contact us regarding any other matter, please email us on office@brookst.cumbria.sch.uk
We will communicate with you by text over the course of the closure. If you are not receiving text messages, please email us giving us details of your up to date mobile number on office@brookst.cumbria.sch.uk. Please also remember to state who your child is when contacting us.
Please stay safe and stay in as per Government guidelines and we look forward to resuming normal school life once this crisis is over.

FSM Scam Warning
Wed 25 Mar 2020WARNING – DO NOT GIVE ANYONE YOUR BANK DETAILS
Schools have reported parents are being targeted by fraudsters targeting families
Saying‘ If your child is entitled to free school meals send your bank details to the school and they will help with funding while the school is closed’.
The email contains links for the parents to follow if they want to receive this funding – these links are fake. This is a scam.

HUB REGISTRATION FORM FOR KEY WORKERS
Tue 24 Mar 2020IMPORTANT - REGISTRATION FORM FOR KEY WORKERS TO BE COMPLETED IN ORDER THAT YOUR CHILDREN CAN ATTEND THE HUB SCHOOL (UPPERBY SCHOOL)
As from Friday 27th March, if you are a Key Worker, who is unable to find alternative childcare for your child/children, childcare will be provided for them at Upperby School, Uldale Road, Upperby, Carlisle, CA2 4JT. Your child will be in a separate room at Upperby School where they will only be with other children from Brook Street School and the childcare will be provided by staff from Brook Street School.
Hub Registration Form for Key Workers
You will need to have completed the attached form prior to leaving your child with us at Upperby School. Kindly therefore download and complete this form ahead of leaving them for the first time.
You can call into Brook Street School to complete this form this week only Tuesday-Thursday 24th to 26th March 2020. We will also have a supply of forms at Upperby School if you cannot access this form. Please ask for a member of Brook Street School staff when dropping them off at Upperby and complete it before leaving your child.

LA Re: Health and Social Care Workers

They have asked that any families with priority workers in the NHS or Social Care identify themselves using the form linked to this letter so that Child Care arrangements can be put in place to allow them to continue their vital work.

Job Visit Cancellations
Tue 17 Mar 2020Due to the current situation we are not allowing visitors into school and therefore have cancelled the visits for the job vacancies we have open at the moment.
We can only apologise for the short notice and any inconvenience caused.
If you have any questions or queries you would like answered please send them to office@brookst.cumbria.sch.uk and the headteacher will get back to you. The closing date for the vacancies will remain unchanged and we welcome your application.
